DESCRIPTION
The wall consists mostly of rounded stones; but there are also limestone blocks and one large block, 1.0 m wide, and 0.60 m high in the W part, at the height of 0.55 m. Below the large block there is opus incertum with small stones. The main part of the wall consists of limestone, some cruma, a couple of lava, one tuff block in the upper part of the wall, some spolia and pieces of terracotta, both grey and yellow tuff pieces (but few). The size of the limestone pieces varies a lot, some are rounded, some rectangular.
In the E part of the wall at the height of ca 1.60-1.63 m, there are 4 smaller holes in the wall, starting at a distance of 0.26 m from the SE corner, within a distance of 1.05 m, marking a possible shelf. Another, possible wall construction is marked by 5 small holes placed diagonally, starting 0.65 m from SW corner, at the height of 1.20 m, the second hole; 1.10 m from the SW corner (at height 1.50 m), the third hole; 1.40 from the SW corner (at the height 1.78 m), the fourth hole; 1.65 m from the SW corner (at the height 1.95 m), and the fifth hole; 1.85 m from the SW corner (at the height of 2.00 m). The modern supporting cement can be seen in the centre of the wall, below the iron beam.
The wall plaster is preserved in the lower part to the height of 1.46 m in the SE part, to 1.70 m in the centre, in the SW part to the height of 1.15 m. The reddish dado is preserved up to 1.30 m, with small pieces of terracotta. Small part of the main zone is only preserved in the SE corner. Above, some patches of supporting plaster are preserved, also in the SW corner.
DETAILS
In the upper part of the wall, there are two holes, the larger one going deep into the wall, both marking possible fallen stones.
MEASUREMENTS
Width 3.90 m.
