Room n

Description

A. Karivieri & R. Forsell

The room is a late addition to the house. It has been built on top of the floor of the courtyard l of the North House. Its W wall covers the water pipe leading from the North to the South House. The N wall abuts to the W wall of tricliniumo.

The small room opens up towards the North portico. Beam holes in the N wall show that it had a vaulted ceiling and an upper floor. There is a round window in the N wall with some glass still attached. A small niche was located in the W wall. In the E wall a walled up door opening is reminiscent of an entrance to tricliniumo, preceding the construction of room o.

The wall plaster is poorly preserved and only small traces of colour can be detected. A yellow band seems to have surrounded the niche. There are also traces of yellow on the walls.

The room has a cocciopesto floor.
