Room c

Description

Henrik Boman & Monika Nilsson

Room c is a small room entered from the atrium and equipped with a now destroyed window to room 14i. The floor is of cocciopesto with a white coating in a rectangular area just inside the door. The room was once painted with white ground 4th style; today these paintings are faded although the plaster is still preserved on the north and east walls.

The internal dividing walls, i.e. the walls to the east and west, abut directly to the boundary wall between the bakery and the caupona V 1,13. This is the same relation as found along the whole northern section of the house, i.e. all dividing walls are built against the boundary wall.

With the exception of the internal window to room 14i, there are no installations or features found in the room which could indicate its original, or its adapted, function within the house.
