East Wall

Description

Renée Forsell

The wall is built in op. incertum except for the part by the opening towards the atrium which is made in op. testaceum. The upper part is reconstructed and the wall has been reinforced in the northern part by modern mortar. The op. incertum consists of a mix of smaller and larger stones, including limestone, lava, cruma and tufa. There is also a rather large piece of a terracotta tile.
There are some remains of plaster in the lower northern part. They are surrounded by modern support plaster.
