North Wall

The north wall of taberna 22 is located between V 1, 22 and taberna V 1,21a. It has an E-W orientation.

The wall consists mainly of limestone, some cruma, lava, tuff and terracotta. It is built in mainly opus incertum and in the west, by the entrance in opus africanum. There are several larger blocks in the wall by the entrance placed as binders and stretchers. The first stretcher is 1.05 high and 0.33 m wide, the second block, a binder, is 0.30 m high and 1.08 m wide and the third, a stretcher, is 0.50 m high and 0.42 m wide in the upper part. The lower part of the wall includes more lava, even some large pieces 20-30 cm wide.

Wall-plaster:
There are remains of wall plaster in the east corner where yellow paint can still be seen 0-93 cm from the east corner and 11cm above an older lavapesta floor.

State of preservation:
The upper part of the wall is missing and the uppermost part is reconstructed.
