Room 1

Description

Thomas Staub

This room probably served as reception room for customers and at the same time as working room for the dying. The wide threshold has the typical form of shops thresholds with the wider part closable with shatters and a narrower part at the western end for a door-leaf. Five cauldrons, two basins and a cistern in the s-w corner take up much of the space. One of the cauldrons even protrudes over the rim of the threshold. Probably the room was equipped with an upper floor as well, reachable by steps in the rear room 3.
