South Wall

Description

Henrik Boman & Monica Nilsson

Of the six beam holes visible, only the one closest to the SW corner is original. The others are either extensively restored or completely reconstructed.

A walled up doorway once led to the North House of Casa di L. Caecilius Iucundus (V 1, 23). The filling consists of stones and tiles. Its height cannot be determined since ancient plaster covers the face of the lower part and modern cement its upper part. No finds or material dating the closing of the door was been found.
