South Wall

Description

Renée Forsell

The S wall more or less constitutes the door opening towards room 2. The door way is built in op. incertum and contains limestone, lava stones and cruma. It also contains one section with eight fragments of roof tiles at the height of 1.15-1.55m. There are also four elements of terra cotta in the wall. Many of the stones showed traces of fire.
At the time of documentation in 2009 several stones were missing along with some mortar in-between the roof tiles. This was mended during the reconstruction in 2011. Above the modern wooden lintel the wall is reconstructed.

At the height of 0.45/0.50m there were remains of plaster coating. It shows some traces of finishing in a beige colour.
