Floor

Description

Henrik Boman & Monica Nilsson

No floor surface treatment was preserved. The conduit that crosses the room was heavily damaged and it could be that the floor has suffered from severe erosion after being exposed. The floor level in the E part, along the conduit and by the latrine, seems to be higher than in the W area of the room.

The superstructure of the cistern in the NE corner stands 0.40 m high and is well preserved, with a reddish plaster covering both the exterior and the interior. It fits into the angular corner, but has otherwise a rounded exterior shape while the shaft itself is circular. The room must at one point have been at a much lower level since the superstructure has been markedly raised.
