Description

Thomas Staub

E wall: width 2.20 m, max. preserved height 3.60 m. The door towards corridor is 0.70 m wide and 1.80 m high, for the frames; see description, corridor , west wall. Also this wall is largely covered by plaster, again with some remains of red and white decorations. Only at a 1.50 x 1.40 m large area to the south of the door, the masonry is visible. Once more the wall is made of a mixed opus incertum of mainly Sarno stone and also cruma, lava and some spoils of plaster. This part is covered by modern concrete, but above the plastered area, some parts of the yellowish mortar are visible. From this side, the niche for the lamp between this room and corridor is plastered.
