East Wall

East wall together with the east wall of room a: width: 3.90 m, max. preserved height: 3.65 m. Some remains of plaster are preserved in the southern part, and small remains at northern part. In the south corner, remains of the older plaster with rests of decorations are visible behind the south wall. This plaster abuts against an older cocciopesto floor. The wall consists, up to a height of 1.30 m, of pure lava-incertum with reddish mortar. Above this part, up to a height of 2.20 m, Sarno stone-incertum (relative large pieces, max. 0.25 x 0.15 m), containing lava and sparse pieces of red Cruma. The uppermost zone of the wall is built with Sarno stone blocks (max. 0.45 x 0.30 m), Cruma, lava, pieces of bricks and tiles and spoils of mortar and plaster.
